It is envisaged that over the course of the project the exploration of Jupiter and its satellites Europa, Ganymede and Callisto will be performed. Scientists believe these moons may be covered with oceans of water thus potentially giving base to expect living forms existing there. Rocket launch is scheduled for 2022, and by 2030 the spacecraft is expected to reach the Jupiter’s orbit and set to exploring the planet surface. Then it will perform detailed investigations of the moons. Hopes are linked to Ganymede; according to Hubble space telescope data, there is a salty ocean beneath the moon’s surface at about 100 km depth. It alone contains more water than all Earth’s oceans combined.
